The Religion and Political Views of

David Cook was born in Houston, Texas and raised in Blue Springs, Missouri.

I have exactly three clues to serve us decipher Cook's religion, some of them more useless than others. I'll go in instruction from least beneficial to most. Here we go:

First, one time in an interview he thanked God that he got a chance to go on the show American Idol and that song didn't just shift into his hobby.[1] Second, he sent out prayers through his Twitter account after hearing about the death of one of his fans.[2]

Third and finally, the only really significant piece of information we have: He sometimes wears what appears to be a rosary. You can look it in this picture. So one would have to assume he's Catholic, but I couldn't find any other information to corroborate that assumption. But then again, who wears a rosary that isn't Catholic?

Liberalism and Middle America

Cook isn't too overtly political either, but just like with his religious convictions, he gave us one clue that's actually worth something. He never came out and endorsed Obama as far as I can te

&#;American Idol&#; Singer David Archuleta Comes Out as LGBTQIA+ in Heartfelt Pride Post

Instagram

"You're not alone."

With those reassuring words — and an introspective essay about who he is — "American Idol" Season 7 runner-up David Archuleta came out as LGBTQIA+ in a touching Instagram post Saturday, right in the middle of Pride month.

Archuleta, 30, expressed uncertainty as to how exactly to label himself, writing, "I am not sure about my own sexuality. I came out in as male lover to my family. But then I had similar feelings for both genders so maybe a spectrum of bisexual. Then I also have learned I don’t have too much sexual desires and urges as most people 💀which works I guess because I have a dedication to save myself until marriage 🤣. Which people call asexual when they don’t experience sexual urges."

'American Idol' alum David Archuleta called his time on the show 'miserable' and 'traumatic'

"American Idol" alum David Archuleta recalled his time competing on the TV series as a teenager, calling it "traumatic."

In an interview with Variety's Adam B. Vary, the year-old spoke about everything from his sexuality to hitting stardom while being an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. At one point, Archuleta reminisced about his "American Idol" journey.

"I felt so disconnected from everything," Archuleta, 30, told Variety. "Like, 13 years later, I'm piecing together what actually was going on. But it's still a process because I still don't understand why people were so into it."

He added: "I believe I was just in protection mode the whole time. If anything, I was putting a wall between me and everyone else."

Archuleta burst onto the "American Idol" scene at just years-old and would go on to place second behind winner David Cook on season seven.  He told Variety that the experience was "traumatic
